1.d4 d5 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.cxd5 exd5 5.Bg5 Nbd7 6.e3 Be7 7.Bd3 0-0 8.Qc2 c6 9.Nge2 h6?!
This is a little commital. Normal is 9...Re8 followed by 10...Nf8.

10.Bh4 Re8 11.0-0 b6?!
[ 11...Nh5 is best, making use of the ...h6 move to force a trade of dark-squared bishops. After the text, white easily obtains a large advantage.]

12.f3 Bb7 13.Rad1 Rc8 14.Bf5!
[ White would like to play 14.e4 , but doing so immediately would allow 14...dxe4 15.fxe4 Ng4 16.Bxe7 Qxe7 17.Qd2 c5 with good play for black.]

14...Qc7 15.Bg3 Bd6 16.Bxd6 Qxd6 17.e4+/- dxe4 18.fxe4 Qe7 19.e5 Nd5 20.Ne4!?
The question mark comes from the fact that I completely overlooked a one move knight fork. The exclamation point is awarded because it ended up being into a pretty decent sacrifice. [ Simplest is 20.Nxd5 cxd5 21.Qa4+/- ]

20...Ne3 21.Qb3 Nxd1
[ 21...Nxf1 would be best met by 22.Nf4 as 22.Rxf1 Ba6 blunts white's attack. The tactical point is that 22...Ba6 loses to 23.Ng6 Qd8 24.Nd6 , and on other moves, white will capture the knight and have a terrifying attack for the exchange.]

22.Nd6!
[ A strong, tactically justified, move. 22.Rxd1 would give white good positional compensation for the exchange but no more.]

22...Ba6 23.Bxd7 Qxd7 24.Rxf7 Qe6 25.Qg3 g5
[ In light of the game continuation, 25...Qxf7 may be the best defensive try, but after 26.Nxf7 Kxf7 27.Qb3+ Ke7 28.Nf4+/- black has only a difficult defense to look forward to.]

26.Rf6 Qxf6!
[ 26...Qe7 27.Qb3+ Kh7 ( 27...Kh8 28.Rxh6+ ) 28.Rf7++- ; 26...Qd7 27.Rxh6 Re7 28.Nxc8 Bxc8 29.Qxg5+ Rg7 30.Qh5+- ]

27.exf6 Rxe2
[ Here 27...Re3 gets beat back by 28.Qe1 Rd8 29.Nf5 Rxe2 30.Qxd1+- ]

28.Nxc8 Re3
My opponent had been counting on this move , thinking it forced the win of white's queen due to the threats on g3 and e1. Fortunately, I had seen just a little further. [ 28...Bxc8 29.Qb3++- ]

29.f7+! Kxf7?
After this move, white mops up easily. [ 29...Kg7 was the best chance to draw but I suspect that white should win the ending after 30.f8Q+ Kxf8 31.Qd6+ Ke8 32.Qxc6+ Kd8 33.h3 Bxc8 34.Qxh6+/- White will have three passed pawns after winning the g-pawn, and black's pieces are poorly coordinated.]

30.Qc7+ Kg6 31.h3 Re2 32.Qxc6+ Kh5 33.Nd6 Ne3 34.Qf3+ g4 35.hxg4+ Kh4
[ 35...Nxg4 36.Qd5++- ]

36.Nf5+ Nxf5 37.gxf5 Re1+ 38.Kh2 Rf1 39.Qg3+ Kh5 40.Qg6+ 1-0
