Dear Volunteers,
We appreciate for your kindly help on picking up new students. Please read the New Student Pick-Up Guideline of the last year carefully. In order to help you during the process, we remind you of the following additional notices:
1. The gas fee will be reimbursed. Based on the experience of the last year, ISP will reimburse $20 for each pick-up.
2. However, in order to get the reimbursement of the parking fee from ISP, you need to provide the receipt. Sometimes those staff would not offer you the receipt on their own initiative, so please ask them for the receipt.
3. We have a new Caltech banner (orange, rectangular) this year. I will give it to you before you go to LAX. We believe this will make the new student
easier to find you.
4. After reaching school, you need to take the new student to the Housing office at first. Sometimes the students will come after their working hours. If so, please take the student to the Campus Security (located in the first floor of the parking structure #4, i.e., the one near the Avery House). The committee will confirm the arrival information of the new students with housing office prior to their arrival.
5. After this, please take the students to their apartment and help them to carry their luggage.
I believe the new comers will contact you very soon after we tell them the pick-up arrangement. If not, rarely, please contact them to confirm the details: flight info, luggage, etc.
