The long-term goal of the Caltech Global Health Association is to find ways to help people, both in developing countries and here in the United States, to escape the grip of crippling disease. We explore the science behind epidemic diseases and health crises, and discuss potential solutions, both medical and social. Our main activities so far have been symposia on African Health, hosted in partnership with an outside non-profit, The GEANCO foundation. One of our club's aims is connect with people in developing nations via the internet, in order to get a closer view of the situation in countries far from our own, and to communicate cutting edge research to which we may have greater access than others. We also engage in other projects and activities related to global health, such as our recent visit to the Doctors Without Borders Exhibit, A Refugee Camp in the Heart of LA. And, some of our projects have led to other types of outreach, such as one of our members' recent research project in Nigeria.
