New Recycling Center Open

Caltech's new Recycling Center is now open to the campus community and the public. The center is on Del Mar Boulevard between Michigan and Wilson Avenues (where the old fire station used to be).

Hours of Operation:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
Saturday - Sunday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

Items Accepted:
White paper, newspaper, cardboard, mixed paper, colored paper, lab glass, high density plastic (HDPE), California Redemption Value (CRV), CRV aluminum, CRV glass, CRV plastic, magazines, phone directories, and tin.

The Building and Grounds Department also furnishes small recycling bins for campus buildings and offices. Please let Delmy know if you want a bin!

WHITE PAPER bond white, computer paper, letterhead, stationary, calculator tape,photocopies, typing and white scratch paper (staples are OK) envelopes, fax, carbonless(NCR) paper, post-it notes, catalogs
COLORED PAPER colored bond paper and colored photocopy only envelopes, magazines, post-it notes
MIXED PAPER envelopes, file folders, fax paper, VCR paper, post-it notes, posterboard, cereal boxes white paper, colored paper, magazines, telephone books, newspaper, cardboard
NEWSPAPER newspaper only (no bags!) plastic bags, plastic ties, wire, string, telephone books
ALUMINUM C.R.V. ONLY most soda cans tin cans (has own bin), aluminum foil, scrap metal
TIN most food cans aluminum foil, metal, motor oil cans
GLASS most food and beverage containers window glass, Pyrex, lab glass, lead glass, mirror glass
CO-MINGLED PLASTIC HDPE plastic: milk bottles, detergent containers, water bottles, food containers (please rinse) motor oil containers
