The Science
Most of the research done by members of the IRA is performed at the
Hale
200-inch Telescope at
Palomar
Observatory near San Diego, California, the two 10-m Keck
Telescopes
atop Mauna Kea in Hawaii and the Spitzer Space Telescope.
From the ground, we
work in the "near infrared" range of the
electromagnetic spectrum between wavelengths of 1 and 10 microns. With
Spitzer, we use all the data from the different instruments.

Some Research projects include:
- Infared spectroscopy of active galactic nuclei
- Imaging and spectroscopy of Ultraluminous Infrared Galaxies
- Deep surveys in the mid-infrared with Spitzer
- Development of instrumentation
