Building Bridges, created in 2000, is a student-run community service organization at Caltech. The unifying purpose of club activities is to improve the lives of underprivileged children in the greater Los Angeles area by encouraging and facilitating Caltech student participation in children-related service activities around our community. We primarily want to establish a direct, positive, and lasting impact on the children with whom we come into contact. We would also like to foster an understanding within the Caltech community of the grim personal and socioeconomic conditions that surround a large number of children in our area and around the world. In recognizing that children quite literally represent the future and should not be held hostage to circumstances, Building Bridges hopes to help pave the way toward a brighter future for the children of our community.
