Please arrive 15 minutes early on the first day for registration. where: In Winnett Lounge (2nd floor). description: The official state dance of California, West Coast Swing has evolved from its roots as an offshoot of Lindy Hop into a versatile dance able to be performed to a wide variety of music including blues, rock and roll, pop and R&B.  Danced traditionally in a slot where the leader dances in place while the follower travels back and forth, WCS allows for a full array of moves from other social dances including East Coast Swing, Salsa and Hustle to be adapted to its own unique style. cost: FREE for Caltech Undergrads (with ID); $6 Caltech Grad students/$8 non-students per class; $35 Caltech Grad students/$49 non-students for the 7-wk series (in advance). Students should have good experience leading/ following Argentine Tango. This series is specifically recommended for those who have attended the Beginner & Advance Beginner Series. NO partner necessary. Practica: Practica and open dancing after class. We will DJ the music! Now that you've seen the basics, this class will polish your steps and introduce some more challenging figures.
