NOTE: No class Thanksgiving, November 23.
where: In Winnett Lounge (2nd floor).
description: Tango is a dance that evolved in the 1880's in the crowded dance halls of the poorer districts of Buenos Aires. It is a social dance that is marked by its unique embrace, a hold that is very natural and warm, and its very organic and grounded movement that inherently arises from the basic dynamics of walking and pivoting.

At its soul, tango is about passion. It is about connection -- connection to the music and to each other.

This series will teach you the basic elements of tango: the embrace, walking, ochos (crosses) & giros (turns), and will introduce the more complex and beautiful figures that come about from combining these elements and interpreting the music.
