If you like learning, exploration, discovery and the excitement of travel, why not join fellow alumni and Caltech faculty for an educational travel program?
Each year, the Caltech Alumni Association offers alumni and friends an opportunity to travel to fascinating places in the company of like-minded Caltech travelers and with the expertise of a Caltech faculty expert. On site lectures, advance reading lists, and discussion with other travelers all combine to make Caltech travel/study programs the experience of a lifetime.
Not convinced? Just ask the folks who have been with us in recent years to see a solar eclipse in Eastern Europe, the deserts of the American southwest, the penguins of the Antarctic peninsula, the untamed wilderness of Alaska and the magnificent splendor of New Zealand.

The Canadian Rockies: A Family Learning Adventure
This trip is designed for the entire family. Science and arts activities have been developed for the younger travelers (ages 8-17) to stimulate curiosity in the history, geology and the unique flora and fauna of this awe-inspiring region. Dr. Joseph Kirschvink, Professor of Geobiology at Caltech, is our study leader for this program. Enhancing the rich educational experience for adults and children are hiking expeditions, horseback riding, rafting and sightseeing excursions. Join other Caltech families in discovering the majestic views of the Rockies and the natural beauty of Banff, Jasper and Yoho National Parks. From Newton to Crick: England and the History of Science
Don't miss this opportunity to explore England's scientific riches, in the company of fellow Caltech alumni and faculty. It will be a memorable anniversary celebration for the 300th anniversary of the publication of Newton's Optics, the groundbreaking exploration of the nature of light and colors. Travel to Cambridge, England's leading scientific city for centuries; Oxford and Tradescant's Ark; the lovely, Georgian city of Bath; and London. Throughout the journey, Jed Buchwald, Caltech's Doris and Henry Dreyfuss Professor of History, and Diana Kormos Buchwald, Editor of the Einstein papers, will accompany us. During our travels, they will present lectures and lead lively discussions delving into the history of science in England from the 17th through the 20th century. Complimenting these lively conversations are expressly arranged visits to world-famous institutions, such as specially arranged visits to the Whipple Museum of Science and the Cavendish Laboratories in Cambridge.
