Patagonia's Pasadena store hosts famed adventurer and writer,

Pasadena, CA - June 8, 2004. On Tuesday, June 8th, from 7 pm - 8 pm,

Patagonia's Pasadena store will host Rick Ridgeway as he presents a

multi-media

presentation and book signing of his new book, "The Big Open."

Ridgeway will show slides from his latest adventure to Chang Tang, Tibet's

largely uninhabited "northern plain." As chronicled in his book, Ridgeway's

adventure was a month-long, 250-mile, self-supported trek through this

region,

as he and a team of America's top mountaineers searched for the unknown

calving

grounds of the endangered Tibetan antelope. Their goal was to use the

discovery

to persuade Chinese authorities to protect the region before poachers get

there

first.

This event is free and open to the public. The store is located at 47 N.
