Letter-writing, 2nd Tuesday of the month: Downstairs at the Athenaeum, the Caltech faculty club, a beautiful mediterranean style building located at the NW corner of Hill and California. Occasional video nights, at Catalina Rec Room 1, in the midst of a complex of student housing structures, on the east side of Catalina between San Pasqual and Del Mar.

To reach the area shown on the map:

• From the 210 freeway: take the Lake or Hill exit and head south.

• From the 110 freeway: the northbound freeway turns into Arroyo Parkway when it reaches Pasadena. Turn right on California Blvd. (the 2nd light) and head east for a mile or two.
