The Protein Expression Center was established to provide researchers with large amounts of recombinant proteins of interest for their research. In addition, the Expression Center can work with researchers to establish automated methods for high-throughput mammalian protein library production optimized for secreted and extracellular proteins, affinity and size-exclusion chromatography purification, functional protein-protein and antibody-antigen interactions, and biophysical analyses of purified proteins and protein complexes. Researchers have access to state-of-the-art equipment including liquid handling robots, surface plasmon resonance instruments, and a Luminex instrument. In addition, the Center is equipped to perform routine molecular biological techniques including vector construction and automated DNA preps, and resources are available to investigators who require assistance in tissue culture.
