Announcing:
International Batik Vegetable Show

Ever want to show in California? I'm hosting a web show of batik, open to all. I am gathering one to three images of vegtables from batik artists to put them on the web. I have chosen vegtables because I figure that though they are accessible to everyone, probably few have done them before. They also seem commercially silly. The onion is our star, there will be a special category. The onion can be essential to cooking, delightful, or cause tears. Your images may be cartoon, realistic, etc. They may be very abstract; alluding to the forms the onion (or other vegtables) may show. I define batik as using some kind of resist and dye on cloth though I am willing to broaden that definition and do not feel limited to that when I work.

Sorry, your browser doesn't support Java(tm).

This will lead to the site
of the
Batik Vegtable Show

as soon as I recieve your entries!

You do not need to send all images at once.

The show will be up for at least a year, probably more. Please send me a scan of your image, or a scan of a photo of your image, or a digital photo. The image you send should be no larger than 300k. If you save the scan as a jpeg this should not be a problem. I will make smaller preview pictures that may be clicked on to show the larger scan. You will retain all rights to your images, by sending them to me you give me the right to post them. The images will not be protected from download, though I will state that all artists retain rights. Your name will be clickable so that people may contact you for sales or whatever if you include your website or email address.

email to jibarry@its.caltech.edu
or post them to the batik site batik-ml@bear-buys.com

If scanning is too much of a pain please send me a photo by snail mail.
