Wag Your Tail for Human Rights!

Group 22 celebrates UDHR50 by marching in the 22nd Annual Doo-Dah Parade

The Pasadena chapter of Amnesty International participated in the 22nd Annual Doo-Dah parade held on November 22, 1998 as "Animals for the Ethical Treatment of People." Chapter members masquerading as animals brought the news to parade-goers that this December 10 is the 50th anniversary of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This statement of fundamental rights and freedoms is the basis of Amnesty's work to protect people around the world from human rights violations.

This is truly an occasion for both humans and their furry friends to celebrate! In addition to wearing colorful handmade masks and carrying signs bearing "ethical treatment" messages (Torture is unBEARable!), "human rescues" were staged with human marchers "saved" from government brutality by the crusading animals. Pasadena Amnesty International members are WILD about protecting human rights around the globe!
